Catchpenny Shoots for the Speed Channel

Little did race car drive Steve Sheppard know, but when he went “postal” after having been hit (again) by his arch nemesis on the track, a camera was rolling, recording the entire event.

Within minutes, Steve’s “temper tantrum” was posted on YouTube and then picked up by Speed Network, where it was then posted as a viewers’ choice option in the “Temper Temper” category.

Steve won, Speed Network called Catchpenny Productions, who drove to Alexander, Illinois to “Shepp’s Speedway Bar” to present the award and shoot Steve’s reaction. The calm, cool and normally even-tempered Steve was slightly embarrassed, but honored to receive the way-cool award. “Any publicity is good publicity,” Steve remarked for the Speed viewers. His acceptance, along with all the other categories will be televised February 11 on the Speed Channel!

Catchpenny Collaborates on Screenplay

April, 2008 - Bob and Brenda were invited by a published author to collaborate on a Christian movie script, "The Way of the Tide." The author generously flew the entire family to Corona Del Mar, California for nine days to get the “bones” of the script completed. Bob, Brenda and Keenan stayed in her home, which over-looks the Pacific Ocean. On days when the fog lifted, they could see Catalina Island.

Brenda will never forget seeing Bob sitting in the author's living room, his feet propped up, typing away on the script, the glass wall folded open behind him with sounds of sea lions and sea gulls filling the space. It was magical! They were treated like royalty and thoroughly enjoyed getting to know both the author and her

precious son during their working visit. The author treated them to a day at Disneyland and California Adventure.

The author flew to Decatur a couple of weeks later to finish writing "The Way of the Tide" with Bob and Brenda. The three sceenwriters polished the script in a matter of days.

Bob Joins DLI

September, 2008 - Bob enrolled in the Decatur Leadership Institute. Wednesday mornings suddenly started MUCH earlier at 6:30 AM. The Decatur Leadership Institute has been developing visionary leadership for work, the community, state, nation and the world for decades.

Some of the objectives are: to strengthen effective leadership; to learn about key businesses and organizations that shape the community; to analyze and practice leadership theories and ideas.

Bob is looking forward to learning from the best!

Catchpenny Helps NHDC Transform Inner City

September, 2008 - Catchpenny completed yet another testimonial driven DVD tool for the Neighborhood Housing Development Corporation. Mary Walker is still the driving force for the organization, which keeps transforming the inner-city of Decatur from near-slum to brand new! This new tool will be used to promote the organization as they continue their great work in transforming Decatur by transforming lives.

Catchpenny Work Featured in Living Christian Magazine

October, 2008 - Jeffrey Hendricks and Mike Carr began a spectacular new God-endeavor by launching “Living Christian in Macon County” magazine. Bob and Brenda were asked to take pictures and write articles for this new publication. What a great honor!

Bob does some of the covers and all of the center spread photos, which highlight a specific church each month. Brenda writes the pastoral profile article each month, among others.

Catchpenny Produces DVD Tool for LSA

October, 2008 - Catchpenny Productions completed a promotional piece for the Lutheran School Association (LSA) of Decatur. Catchpenny was hired by Tara Winters, new Marketing Director at LSA, because of positive experience in previous work Catchpenny had done for her during her time at the American Red Cross. Parent, student and teacher testimonials combined with B-roll tell the story of an awesome school system.

The film has enough persuasion to cause Bob and Brenda to actually enroll their son at LSA. Great decision, great school! Gayle Sablotny used to work at Wood Printing Service back in the days when Brenda was there as Art Department and Office Manager. Gayle is the sum and total of an amazing Art Department at LSA.

Catchpenny Finishes Screenplay in Two Weeks

November, 2008 - It took Bob and Brenda 20 years to write their first script, "E-318." But they realized that if they were going to be Hollywood screenwriters, they would have to write a lot faster that that! After all, that Twilight Zone script about the little talking doll that kills the mean father was written in one day! "Little Shop of Horrors" was written, cast AND shot in less than a week! So, Bob and Brenda decide to test their abilities. Can they conceive and write a movie script in two weeks? They prayed, and God poured out “The Diner.” Yep, within two weeks it was completed, registered with the Writers’ Guild and listed for sale on www.inktip.com.

It is now sitting in a pile on some reader's desk in Hollywood waiting to be discovered!

Catchpenny Finishes Screenplay in One Week

December, 2008 - So if they can write a screenplay in two weeks, can Bob and Brenda do another script in ONE week? The answer is, "Yes!" This time it’s “Deep Waters.” This is the story of a man who comes back to life and realizes God has a purpose for his new life!

Now, as with "The Diner," "Deep Waters" also sits in a pile on a reader's desk at a production company waiting for the right moment!

Catchpenny Dives Into "Clubhouse Kidz"

December, 2008 - Regina "Gina" Yoder came to Catchpenny Productions wanting to produce a series of videos, teaching kids how to memorize scripture. Previously, she had gone all the way to Hollywood for her production but was dissatisfied.

From their first meeting, Bob, Brenda and Gina were on the same page and began making Gina's dream real! Gina quickly became one of their best clients and best friends! Go God!

The "Clubhouse Kidz" Premieres in Arthur

September, 2009 - After months of production, the first “Clubhouse Kids”
DVD debuted to a crowd of participants in Gina Yoder’s church in Arthur, Illinois, to RAVE reviews. Many of the kids who starred in the film were on hand to see themselves on the silver screen. Cake, punch, candy and real homemade ice cream was a wonderful finishing touch to a fantastic experience for everyone involved!

They're hoping and praying for many more Clubhouse Kidz projects in the near future. For more information about the Clubhouse Kidz, go to www.clubhousekidz.com.

Bob Stars in THE INFORMANT

September, 2008 - Bob, not to be over-shadowed by Matt Damon, debuts in his starring, popcorn eating role in the movie, “The Informant.” When asked about his part in the movie, Bob explained, "I could tell by the way Steven Soderbergh kept his back toward me, and the way he never made eye contact with me that I was THE greatest popcorn-eating extra that he's ever worked with!" Bob has been fine tuning his instrument by eating popcorn with not only his right hand, but his left hand too. He's also perfecting the "Eat a piece, take a sip of coke" move that's more difficult. Bob adds, "I sit by the phone day and night for another similar role."
